WonderKindy will be implementing the Early Years Learning Framework into our programming.
The EYLF is a new curriculum that has been brought in by the Victorian Department Of Education and Early Childhood Development and has been brought in to ensure each child receives quality a educational program from the very first time they are placed in an early learning centre.
“Children learn from birth and their learning development at each stage of life forms the foundation for the next. During the period from birth to eight years, children experience more rapid brain development and acquire more skills and knowledge then in any other periods of their lives.”
- Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework for Children from Birth to Eight Years
Within the Framework there are 5 learning outcomes that each Early Childhood professional will identify within their programs:
- Children have a strong sense of identity.
- Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Children are confident and involved learners
- Children are effective communicators
Each child enrolled at WonderKindy will have an Individual Portfolio which is used as a tool by our Educators to evaluate and modify their room programs.
The portfolios will contain ‘Learning Stories’ on your child’s development and interest while they are at care. We also encourage parents and families to add their own learning stories and experiences from home so that we can follow through your children’s interests and needs.
Each room will also have learning areas that will be modified and evaluated monthly according to the children.
These areas include:
- Social/Emotional and Communication
- Physical Play
- Maths and Science
- Environment and Culture
- Sensory
- Dramatic and Role Play
Children’s portfolios will go with each child right up until they are ready for school. The Kindergarten Teachers will then conduct Transition Statements which allows them to interact with your child’s Primary School and share developmental achievements and needs.
All staff at WonderKindy are trained and will be encouraged to continue on going training regarding the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework, ensuring that our programming and planning is of a high quality standard.
There is an abundant amount of information for families on The Victorian Department of Education Website.

Childcare Benefit and Childcare Rebate
Child Care Benefit (CCB) is a payment to help eligible families who use approved and registered child care, such as all WonderKindy Centres. CCB payments help eligible families reduce their weekly payments. CCB together with the Child Care Tax Rebate (Quarterly payment) can also help make child care more affordable for WonderKindy families. To find out more information about CCB or the Child Care Tax Rebate and if you are eligible, please contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50.
